Registration & abstract submission open: SUSALPS - International Grassland Conference 2025 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Grassland ecosystems characterize the Alps and the Alpine foothills of southern Germany on over one million hectares. They are not only an important basis for the dairy and meat industries, but also perform key ecosystem functions. They store carbon and nitrogen, regulate the water balance, protect against erosion and are important for biodiversity.

However, climate change, as well as changes in land use and farming methods, pose major challenges to these valuable ecosystems.
How do these changes affect the functions of grassland? What sustainable strategies are there for the future?
Which scientific approaches and management methods can help to preserve grassland ecosystems in the long term?

The SUSALPS project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), is inviting researchers, authorities, organizations and farmers to the International Grassland Conference 2025 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Exchange ideas with experts, discuss the latest research findings and jointly develop solutions for sustainable grassland management.

The conference spans three days (15-17 July) and covers both scientific and practical perspectives.

Registration and abstract submission is possible here until June 15.
